This document provides detailed step-by-step instructions, with visual aids, to help you successfully complete the KYC process for residents through personal identification. Personal identification means that you complete the second verification phase — confirming your identity — by visiting the selected location in person.
Step 1: Starting the KYC Process
After successfully registering and logging in to your AX CRYPTO profile, a banner will appear stating "To access trading features, please complete KYC." Click the "Complete KYC" button to start the process (Figure 1).

Step 2: Residency Status, Verification Method and Language
A "Select option" window will appear. Under "Choose residency," select Resident. Under "Choose language," select the language in which you want to complete the process. Once "Resident" is selected, an additional "Choose verification method" field appears, where you need to select "Verify on location" (personal identification) for this process, then click the "Confirm" button (Figure 2).
Figure 2: The "Select option" window — residency "Resident", language, and the "Verify on location" method
Step 3: Selecting a Verification Device
A screen will inform you that the process works better on a mobile device, and you can continue in the following ways (Figure 3):
- Via mobile device: scan the displayed QR code, or click the "Copy link" button and open the copied link on your phone
- Via computer: click "Continue on desktop"
Figure 3: Device selection screen with QR code and "Copy link" / "Continue on desktop" options
Step 4: Selecting the Country and Document Type
After selecting a device for verification, the full sequence for this process appears at the top of the screen: Document type, Front side (and Back side for ID cards), Address (permanent), Address (residential), Face photo, Data input, Additional document, Account number, and Background check.
First, choose the issuer of the document (e.g., Serbia), then select the document type — Government-issued ID or Passport (Figure 4).
Figure 4: Selecting the document issuer and type
Step 5: Photographing the Document
A "Document image taking" screen will appear with instructions and an example image (Figure 5): take a photo of the ID page only, make sure there are no light reflections or shades on the document, that the photo is not blurry, and that the long edges of the photo frame and the document are aligned.
Figure 5: Instructions for photographing the document
If you have not already done so, your browser will then ask for camera access permission (Figure 6). Select "Allow while visiting the site" (persistent access) or "Allow this time" (temporary access) so the verification process can continue.

Step 6: Photographing the Front of the Document
Position your document inside the frame as shown in the example photo, then press the Space bar or click the "Take a photo" button to photograph the front of your document (Figure 7), according to the previously shown instructions.
Figure 7: Photographing the front of the document
Step 7: Reviewing the Photo and Photographing the Back of the Document
A "Check photo" screen lets you review the captured image against two criteria — no reflections, blur, or shades, and only the photo page should be visible — then choose "Continue" or "Repeat photo" (Figure 8).
Figure 8: Reviewing the captured photo
If photographing the document is not successful, you will be redirected back to the photographing screen.
If you photographed:
- An ID card — you also need to photograph the back of the document, following the same instructions. You will then be redirected to the next screen.
- A passport — you will be redirected directly to the next screen.
Step 8: Entering Your Residential Address
On the "Permanent address" screen, enter your address, number, floor/apartment, city, region, zip code, and country, and indicate whether your residential address is the same as your permanent address (Figure 9). If you select "No," you will be asked to enter a separate residential address on the next screen.
Figure 9: Entering the permanent address
After that, you need to attach a valid document confirming the entered address (Figure 10). The document must clearly contain your first and last name and your residential address information.
Acceptable documents include:
- a scanned copy/extract of your ID document, or
- another official document containing your residential address (e.g., a vehicle registration certificate or a property tax assessment decision).
If, for objective reasons, you are unable to obtain your residential address from these documents, you may instead submit:
- a copy of another document or proof confirming the address (e.g., a phone or utility bill), or
- a written statement given under full material and criminal liability.
Accepted document formats are: jpg, jpeg, png, heif, heic, pdf, doc, and docx, with a maximum size of 3 MB.

Step 9: Photographing the Client's Face
After entering your residential address (and place-of-stay address, if applicable), a screen with instructions for photographing your face will open (Figure 11). After reading all the instructions shown, click the "Continue" button to proceed with the verification process.

Photograph your face by staying inside the frame and pressing the Space bar or clicking the "Take a selfie" button (Figure 12).
Figure 12: Photographing the face
A "Check photo" screen then lets you review the result against two criteria — the whole face print should be visible and in focus, and the photo should be free of glare or dark spots — then choose "Continue" or "Repeat photo" (Figure 13).
Figure 13: Reviewing the face photo
Step 10: Entering Additional Information
On the "Data acquisition" screen, enter additional information (Figure 14), including:
- Your personal identification number or other national ID number (e.g., EMBG, OIB, EMŠO, INN, UNP, TIN, Adóazonosító jel)
- Purpose of business
- Employment status
- Business activities
- Source of funds
- The issuing bank of your bank account
- The location where you would like to verify your account
Figure 14: Entering additional data
At the end, indicate whether you are a domestic or foreign state functionary within the meaning of the applicable Law. A link then appears to download, fill in and sign the Politically Exposed Person (PEP) Statement, which you will be asked to upload in the next step. Check "I have the statement ready" once you have it prepared, then click "Continue" (Figure 15).
Figure 15: Confirming state functionary status and downloading the PEP Statement
A "Documentation" screen will then open, asking you to attach the signed PEP Statement document (Figure 16). After uploading the completed and signed statement, click "Continue."

Step 11: Current Account Verification
On the "Bank account registration" screen, enter your bank account number in the three-part format used for local bank accounts, then click "I have the document ready" once you are prepared to attach proof of the account (Figure 17).
Figure 17: Entering the bank account number
Then attach proof of the current account (Figure 18). This can be:
- a copy of a bank statement with your name and account number clearly visible,
- a screenshot from your banking app showing your name and account number, or
- a written bank confirmation listing you as the account holder along with your account number.
Note: If you are using a debit or credit card for verification, the submitted image should show only the current account number and your first and last name, while the 16-digit card number must be covered.

Step 12: Completion of the First Phase and Scheduling the InPerson Verification
After that, a confirmation screen appears stating that the operator is processing your request, that you will be notified by email with a link to continue the process, and that you can close the window in the meantime (Figure 19).
Figure 19: Confirmation that the request is being processed
You will then receive an email titled "AX CRYPTO – KYC Submission Confirmation," confirming that your KYC submission has been received and asking you to confirm your identity at the location you previously selected, bringing a valid ID card or passport for identity confirmation (Figure 20).

Step 13: In-Person Verification at the Location
After visiting the selected location and confirming your identity through in-person verification, you will receive an email titled "AX CRYPTO – KYC Approved," confirming that your KYC has been successfully approved and that you can now access all features on the AX CRYPTO platform (Figure 21).

Step 14: Logging in to the Platform
Finally, enter your credentials (email and password) on the "Sign in" page and click "Sign in" (Figure 22).

After successfully logging in, you will land on the platform's homepage and can use all of its trading features (Figure 24).
