KYC Process — Resident / Direct Video Identification

This document provides detailed step-by-step instructions, along with visual elements, to help you successfully complete the KYC verification process for your account via video identification. Video identification allows you to complete the second phase of verification — confirmation of personal identity — entirely remotely, through a live conversation with an operator, without the need to visit a physical location.

Step 1: Starting KYC Verification

After successfully registering and logging into your AX CRYPTO profile, a window will open notifying you that KYC verification is required in order to access all trading features on the platform. Click the "Complete KYC" button to begin the process (Figure 1).

If you have not already done so, an additional window will appear requesting camera permission (Figure 6), where you need to allow camera access by selecting one of the offered permission options, such as one-time access (“Allow this time”) or permanent access (“Allow while visiting the site”), in order to continue the verification process.

Step 7: Reviewing the Photo and Photographing the Back of the Document

After successfully photographing the document, the system offers the option to continue or to retake the photo if it does not meet the previously listed conditions (Figure 8).

Figure 8: Option to continue or retake the photo

If the document photo is not successful, you will be redirected back to the photo capture screen.

If you photographed:

  • an ID card — you also need to photograph the back of the document, following the sameinstructions. You will then be redirected to the next screen.
  • a passport — you will be redirected immediately to the next screen.

Step 8: Entering Your Residential Address

Enter your residential address and indicate whether your current residence address is the same as your permanent address (Figure 9).

Figure 9: Option for entering the residential address

After that, you need to attach a valid document confirming the entered address (Figure 10). The document must clearly contain your first name, last name, and residential address details. Acceptable documents include:

  • a scanned excerpt of your ID document, or
  • another official document containing residence information (e.g. a vehicle registration or aproperty tax assessment decision).

If, for objective reasons, you cannot obtain proof of your residential address from these documents, you may instead attach:

  • a copy of another document or evidence confirming the address (e.g. a phone or utility bill), or
  • a written statement given under full material and criminal liability.

Accepted document formats are: jpg, jpeg, png, heif, heic, pdf, doc, and docx, with a maximum size of 3 MB.

Then attach proof of your current account (Figure 18). This can be:

  • a copy of a bank statement with your name and account number clearly visible,
  • a screenshot from a banking app showing your name and account number, or
  • a written bank confirmation listing you as the account holder along with your account number.

Note: If you use a debit or credit card for verification, the submitted image should show only the account number and your first and last name, while the 16-digit card number must be covered/hidden.

Step 12: Completing the First Phase of Verification and Scheduling Video Identification

Figure 19: Confirmation that the request is being processed

Shortly after, you will receive an automatic email titled “Confirmation of KYC/KYB Documentation

Submission” (Figure 20), confirming that your request has been received and that you will be notified in due course about the next steps toward final account verification.

Once your information has been processed, you will receive an email titled “AX CRYPTO – KYC Video Identification” (Figure 21). The message contains a link for scheduling a video call with an operator. Before the call, prepare the original identification document you used during the process so far, and ensure you have a well-lit space and a stable internet connection.

Step 13: Preparing for the Video Call

Clicking the link in the email will open the “Identity Confirmation” page with an overview of the steps you need to follow: preparing your document, ensuring a working camera on your device, and a sufficiently lit and quiet space, as well as basic guidelines for the procedure itself. When ready, click the “Start video call” button (Figure 22). If you have not already done so, you will need to allow access to your device’s camera and microphone in order to continue the video identification process.

Figure 22: Preparing and starting the video call

Step 14: Device Check and Waiting Room

Before connecting with an operator, a “Device Check” screen will appear where you can verify that your camera and audio are working correctly (Figure 23). When ready, click the “Enter waiting room” button.

Figure 23: Device check before the video call

After entering the waiting room, you will see your current position in the queue and the estimated waiting time for an available operator (Figure 24). While waiting, do not leave or refresh the page — the information updates automatically, and the first available operator will join you shortly.

Figure 24: Waiting room for video identification

Step 15: Video Identification with the Operator

Once an operator joins you, the live conversation is recorded, which you will be informed of in advance and asked to consent to. During the video identification, the operator will guide you through several short steps:

  • Consent to recording the conversation — the operator will greet you, introduce themselves, andexplain that the call is being recorded, after which you need to verbally confirm your consent.
  • Document verification — you need to show the identification document you used earlier in theprocess to the camera, and turn it as needed so the operator can verify its authenticity.
  • Identity confirmation — you will receive an SMS message with a verification code to your phonenumber, which you need to enter or state to the operator for confirmation.
  • End of call — once the operator confirms all information, the video session ends, and you will beinformed that the procedure has been successfully completed.

The procedure takes only a few minutes. Make sure to stay within the camera frame throughout the conversation and not communicate with third parties in the room.

Step 16: Completing Verification

After the video call ends, it takes a few more minutes for all information to be processed and confirmed. Once your request is approved, you will receive an email confirming that your account has been successfully verified (Figure 25).
